you go back and read everything that has been written by the Kool Aid drinkers regarding the Mayfield case, it’s been pretty much the same. Only they don’t have any DUI’s or restraining orders against Mayfield to drag in. They also don’t have any ex-lovers or business partners to drag in.
The only cheap shot they could take was that of the evil step-mom and boy has that one backfired on them. Mayfield was trying to keep things with the evil step-mom low key and out of the public eye because it was causing him a lot of pain and it’s understandable as she has been accused of contributing in some part or in whole with his dad’s death. Of course, we’ll see what happens there when that comes to trial. If it happens that she was involved with the death of Mayfield’s dad, that means she could very well have committed perjury in that case and if that happens then the affidavit she‘s sworn to in NA$CAR‘s suit against Mayfield will immediately become suspect. That also would make her a member of the Orange Jumpsuit Club and both instances won’t help out Faux King Brian and his band of merry henchmen.
But in their need to inflict as much damage on Mayfield’s reputation as they could through their attack dogs in their controlled media and Official Propagandist Pharaoh Ramses Posthole, they decided to drag this whole thing out in public. Now, you know they’ve got to be regretting it as their star witness has turned out to be more of a nightmare than a sweet dream. But like I said before, “be careful what you wish for, you may get it” and that’s exactly what’s happening with NA$CAR’s dragging Lisa Mayfield into this fiasco. So go back and read what the propagandists cranked out in the Mo Grant case then read what they’ve done in the Mayfield case. You’ll find they’re very much alike.
Based on some info I found regarding the HOF in Charlotte, which we fans and others pay for in the form of an increased hotel tax in the Charlotte area, the initial cost for an adult to get in will be $17 when it opens next year and will be boosted up to $25 by 2018. That is, of course, if things stay as planned and there’s no cost over-runs, etc. But even a bigger question is what will happen with the HOF when the contract expires in June 2038? That is providing NA$CAR is still considered a racing entity by then and not purely a sports entertainment company which it’s rapidly closing in on. The current financial impact will be equal to or less than that of Charlotte Motor Speedway. So it looks like somebody might have stretched the financial figures yet again like they did with Staten Island. And what happens if HRH, The Emperor of All Things NA$CAR, ends up at the Gray Bar Hotel and Health Spa? How big of an impact will that have? What if the All Star race is moved as has been threatened before? And what about the impact of losing the Mayfield and Kentucky lawsuits? What impact will that have on the revenue flow from the HOF? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what all falls out over the next 2 years.
Here is something from a NA$CAR propaganda sheet from 3 years ago:
The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, Inc. (NASCAR), which began in 1948, is the sanctioning body for one of America's premier sports. NASCAR is the #1 spectator sport -- holding 17 of the top 20 attended sporting events in the U.S., the #2 rated regular-season sport on television with broadcasts in over 150 countries, and has 75 million fans who purchase over $2 billion in annual licensed product sales. These fans are the most brand loyal in all of sports and as a result, more Fortune 500 companies participate in NASCAR than any other sport.
With the current financial problems and loss of revenue from souvenir and concession stand sales not to mention the lost revenue from all those empty grandstand seats, I don’t think there are anywhere near 75 million fans and I don’t think they’re selling $2 billion in annual licensed products. And with the ratings the way they are, it’ll be interesting to see how those hold up against the NFL and other sports. Funny how we never hear about the ratings in the 150 countries that NA$CAR is broadcast in. Of course, in those 150 other countries, F-1 is the #1 form of auto racing. And with the number of Fortune 500 companies bailing out as sponsors, they may have to expand the list to Fortune 2000 companies providing they can get companies in South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and other countries interested in being sponsors. I’ll be very curious to see what the next propaganda sheet looks like for the fan base and revenue figures.
Another article related to the last presidential campaign and France family involvement with it. Interesting that it mentions Capital Circle Group Limited Partnership in it. That’s where the current Mrs. Faux King Brian was working as a controller. What’s that thing about dating, much less marrying employees? Candidates got around with a little help from their friends (December 18, 2007)
Here’s an article from Forbes that was written
back in February. If Forbes is writing this, and
they’re not in the racing business, then you
know something is very wrong with NA$CAR and
its’ leadership (or lack thereof):
attention to the franchising part and go back to
what Carl Long said about it in his appeal over
his oversized engine. Especially since the
franchising will be reviewed next season. First
Long, then Mayfield, and now NA$CAR’s is after
the 64 team. They won’t be happy until all that’s
left is the mega-teams.
Carl is still $177,000 short on paying his fine,
so keep donating folks.
You don’t hear much about groups who help out the families and service members who have lost a loved one or a buddy. The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) provides various types of assistance to family members, children of deceased combat veterans, current service members who have lost a buddy, and a whole bunch more. TAPS is a charitable organization listed with the IRS, so any donations can be listed as a charitable donation on your taxes. Organizations like this didn’t exist when I was serving or weren’t well known. Once a military family member died, there wasn’t much help for the family, children, or comrades. You can check them out at www.taps.org
