After months of planning and finding the right solution for the speedway Historic North Wilkesboro Speedway partnered with Alabama based ticketing company Ticket Biscuit. “This has been several months in the works, to make sure the solution worked well with our ticket office” said Steven Wilson
Last Friday North Wilkesboro Speedway began a pre-sale to our newsletter recipients and have received a lot of great feedback on the affordability of tickets to all events at North Wilkesboro Speedway in 2010, all tickets to events will be priced at $17 in advance, and just $30 for the 3 day Short Track Shootout Weekend in October featuring the ASA Sunoco National Tour Kings Ransom 300 championship race. On May 15, 2010, North Wilkesboro Speedway will host the Red Carpet Movie Premier of Red Dirt Rising, featuring Matt Dylan in concert and 20 lap Legendary Ford Flathead series 20 lap race for only $15 in advance.
In addition to online sales Historic North Wilkesboro Speedway will begin offering sales in person at our ticket office located at 381 Speedway Lane in North Wilkesboro beginning April 3 from 10 – 4 every other Saturday, and during operating hours on weekends Buck Baker Racing School will be running.
“This is a historic day in speedway history, it’s been 14 years since tickets were sold and we are gracious to be able to offer this again back to those who love the history of racing and especially all those who have longed for racing to return to North Wilkesboro Speedway, here is your chance to join us in the comeback season in 2010” said Alton McBride Jr. President/CEO of Speedway Associates.
It looks like some of the Cup boys are interested in running at North Wilkesboro in some capacity. Here’s some Twitter traffic between Mr. Happy and Denny Hamlin:
@KevinHarvick just pulled into ?. Wilkesboro speedway to test for first time why do we not race here anymore????
@dennyhamlin i'm in and so are the people around this community!
http://twitpic.com/1atacz - In the car waiting to make next run!
@KevinHarvick let's host a short track late model race there..
@dennyhamlin well come on down, we can always put something together, we will be running the Short Track Weekend in October
@KevinHarvick if anyone is interested you can come to the buck baker driving school this weekend here at Wilkesboro and make laps.
You’ve got to remember, neither of these guys
were involved with Cup racing back when North
Wilkesboro was in it’s glory days. Come to think
of it, there’s not many drivers left in Cup who
were driving back when North Wilkesboro was on
the schedule. I think 9 or 10 of the current drivers
ever raced there and a few from the Busch and
Truck Series. So for these young guys to be
finding out what a great track it is really says
something to how enduring a good track is to the
history of the sport and to racing itself. When
1960 Grand National Champ Rex White rates it
as one of his favorites, that’s a high
recommendation from somebody who would
know as he raced there when it was dirt and
after they paved it. And I’m not just saying that because Rex is my friend. So it looks like North Wilkesboro is back and aiming to stay that way. Team testing, racing, movies, concerts, driving school, just about everything anyone could want.
To all the veterans out there and all those currently serving, my thanks to you all for keeping us free.
