about Tire Monkey and Mario Gosselin during the Truck Series races:

And here I thought he was being a nice guy. Just another product being shilled for by the Human Shill instead of being genuinely interested in a team’s performance. I should’ve known better.
What does Red Bull have to gain with signing Kasey Kahne for a year? A big boost in souvenir and product sales, more fans at least on a temporary basis, a pitchman for their product, and a driver who’s had a little more success than their current drivers. Will Kahne actually improve their finishes? That’s a possibility but based on the power that Red Bull doesn’t seem to be able to find most of the time, I don’t think so. Kahne will give them some respectable finishes but I don’t think they have the horsepower to put Kahne in Victory lane. Unless they get hold of that manifold Roto-Reutimann used at Joliet.
Interesting coincidence at Watkins Glen. One of the race sponsors for the Busch race was Zippo lighters. And who happened to be on Marcos Ambrose car as a sponsor? None other than Zippo. I know, it sounds too much like a conspiracy theory but it really is an amazing coincidence. And as Marcos isn’t a client of Faux King Brian’s marketing company, I wonder if he’ll be taking the sponsors who are clients of that marketing company with him to RPM? Like Kingsford, Armor All, and STP?
If I were Bruton the Bald, which I can’t be since I have a full head of hair, I wouldn’t be putting in all those seats at Kentucky to raise the seating capacity to 116,000. I might put in about 30,000 to bring it up to 96,000 seats. With the economy being what it is, I’d err on the side of good judgment because once that “new car smell” disappears; you’re going to have a bunch of empty seats if you raise it to 116,000 and will be highly criticized for the empty seats the fans at home would see. Looks at all the empty seats you have at TMS. The “new car smell” left that place a while a go and there are more than enough empty seats there. Look at your home track at Charlotte. You had to block off a whole bunch of seats there in Turn 2 and the back straight to keep it from looking so empty on that side of the track while the front side really looked empty. So do something different from what Faux King Brian is doing Bruton and use some common sense. It would make for a nice change of pace in the NA$CAR world.
It’s sad there are people who basically get paid by NASCAR to cover NASCAR and still want fans to believe they're an objective media source. - Shawn Courchesne on Twitter
Shawn makes a great point with this and the fans who aren’t drinking the Kool Aid and wearing the rose colored glasses or aren’t a part of the Short Attention Span Crowd know who’s objective and who isn’t and they can pretty much figure out who’s getting paid whether it’s in the form of an outright check as in the web site owned by Faux King Brian’s family or by giving them credentials and exclusive access to owners, drivers, and NA$CAR officials. Think about the Booth Buffoons and their lack of objectivity and constant cheerleading and shilling. How anyone could consider them to be objective is beyond me. You’ve got Jabber Jaws and his parrot and Hambone on Focks constantly cheerleading and shilling for one make of car and their sponsors, Jabber Jaws brother doing the same thing, and team owners Phil Parsons, Crusty, and Drab Brad cheerleading for their teams, sponsors, and one manufacturer. So how can they be objective? They can’t. And then you have the so-called print journalist which are more web-based than actual print that work on the web site named after the sanctioning body who constantly praise the sanctioning body, never question bad decisions, and spend more time writing fluff than reporting actual news. So can these media people be considered to be objective? I’ll let you decide.
As fans, we’ve heard for years how the NA$CAR rulebook is so super secret and hush-hush and it has to be controlled because there are some big proprietary secrets in it. Well, if you go to the ASA web site:
http://www.sunoconationaltour.com/downloads
you can download a PDF file of their rules. You can see how the contingency decals are supposed to be placed on the cars. You can see how the patches are supposed to be placed on the uniforms. All the information is right there for the fans to see and have access to. And what do we get from the Beach Boy Bubbas? Zip, nada, zilch, zero, nothing except for excuses as to why we can‘t have a copy of the rulebook. As much as they like to preach about being fan friendly, it seems like the ASA is doing a much better job of it by allowing their fans more access to the series’ rules.
While they haven’t officially released the so-called “tweaks” to the Chase for the Chumps, there have been some hints as to them expanding it to 15 cars instead of the current 12. Is it a coincidence NA$CAR chose that number or is it because some of the Chosen Ones haven’t made it in when it was 10 and now currently 12? Sort of like why they have the Top 35 to appease certain sponsors and team owners.
It’ll be interesting to see the Truck Series race at Darlington. Ken Schrader is back in the KHI truck and because of a lack of funding, the Billy Ballew #15 truck won’t be racing until they can find some sponsorship.
And it’s looking like next season that Mad Max Papis will running full time in the Truck Series instead of part time in the Cup Series. He’ll still have the same sponsor the way things stand right now and will continue to run a Germain Racing prepared vehicle.
Steve Park is supposed to be making a return in a truck at Joliet on the 27th of this month. He’ll be driving the #41 truck for the Eddie Sharp Racing team as they make their debut there. I’m sure the older fans remember Parks terrible wreck several years ago that pretty much took him out of the Cup Series back when he was racing the #1 car for DEI.
Congratulations to Jr. on winning the Most Popular Driver Contest yet again.
As I’ll be on the road, I want to wish my good friend and mentor Rex White a Happy Birthday. Rex will be 81 on August 17th.
