Many years ago, Jimmy and a friend of ours Mike went to Charlotte for a race. Well, they only had enough money for the cheapest ticket. At that time the cheapest ticket was an infield pass. They got there late and the infield was sold out. Not to worry.
Not ones for admitting defeat, they accessed the situation, adapted their plans, made the proper adjustment and overcame the problem. They built their scaffold on the outside of the track instead of the infield. Now let me state here you could never get away with this now.
Outside of turn 3 used to be a hill. Well, Jimmy and Mike took two 18’ extension ladders and secured them to the truck. They then put a board in between the 2 ladders. They sat on the board in between the 2 ladders. They used bungee cords and duct tape to secure themselves to the board. They had the highest seat in the house or should I say around the house.
At the end of the race people were laughing at them until Jimmy pointed out that their seats were the highest at the track and they didn’t have to pay for them.
