Other Stuff To Do

The state's capital city, Dover, dates back to the late 1600s so as you can imagine there is plenty of history just waiting on you to explore. There are ten nationally recognized Museums, and the world's largest cargo plane, stationed at Dover Air Force Base.  The historic Green and Lockerman Streets are great places for strolling or shopping.  There are quaint shops and also historic buildings, especially if you walk along State Street. Delaware is a tax-free shopping state.

Like to Gamble?  Adjacent to the track is a facility that includes 2,500 slot machines ranging from penny to one hundred dollars.  The Casino is 100% Smoke Free.
Close by at the Delaware State Fairgrounds is another Casino.

Delaware is home to many beautiful beaches at Bethany Beach, Dewey Beach, Fenwick Island, Lewes, Georgetown and Rehoboth Beach.  Don’t want to drive to the shore?  Go to Silver Lake's popular park and beach areas located right in Dover.  It is located between downtown Dover and the DuPont Highway strip of shopping centers and chain restaurants. It has a small sandy beach, picnic pavilions with barbeque grills, walking paths, and several fishing spots. You may also see people boating and water skiing in the lake.

Air Mobility Command Museum at Dover Air Force Base features a collection of vintage planes and historical artifacts tracing the origins of the base back to World War II. The museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
