PREVIEW - The Brickyard
& IRP (near bottom under Cup info)
ADDRESS: 4790 W. 16th St. Indianapolis, IN 46222
TRAFFIC INFO 2011: Due to construction on I-465 southbound, the eastbound Crawfordsville Road ramp is closed (northbound is still open). Also due to construction, 38th Street is restricted to two lanes. Motorists are encouraged to use the eastbound 10th Street ramp from I-465 as the main route to the track.
Infield parking is not accessible through Gate 2 (Main Gate) from 16th Street eastbound, as left turns are not permitted into that entrance on Race Day. Parking for 16th Street motorists in both directions will be available on the south side of 16th Street after public infield parking fills on all three days of the event.
IMS will route traffic differently into the facility from 30th Street than it has in the past. All westbound traffic will enter Gate 11 and be parked in Lot 7. All eastbound traffic will enter Gate 10 and follow the same procedure as in the past to either be directed to Turn 3 (until full) or into Lot 7.
This change will alleviate congestion and will allow for nearly twice the amount of traffic to enter the facility at the same time from 30th Street.

More Allstate 400 at the Brickyard travel tips can be found on the Indiana State Police Web site at www.isp.in.gov.
Please Be Aware These directions do not take road construction into account. Always follow the direction of traffic control personnel. You can find Indiana highway construction information at in.gov/isp/.
If you are coming from within Indy (east going west) take 16th or 30th Streets.
If you are coming up or down on I-65, exit on 30th Street westbound.
If you use I-465, you can either:
*** Get off on 10th street, exit 14A, and go east to Lynhurst Drive where you will turn left (north). That will take you to 16th Street where you can turn right towards the Speedway.
*** Get off on Crawfordsville Rd, US 136, Exit 16A. Traffic will be sent in three directions, but all will get to the track.
*** Get off on 38th Street east, Exit 17. Go south on Moller Road, then east on 30th Street to park in Coca-Cola parking lot.
EASY WAY TO PARK IN COKE LOT:
1. Take I-465 to the west side of town. (I-465 is a hiway that loops Indianapolis.)
2. Get off on 38th street and head East (back in towards the city).
3. About the 3rd light is Moller Road. Turn right and head south on Moller
4. You go through one light and the next light should be 30th Street. You can't turn right, you can only go straight or turn left. You will turn left. You will be heading East.
The giant field on your right is the Coke Lot. Pull into this lot and park as far South and East as you can.
If you go a mile to Georgetown road, you can turn right and perhaps find a closer spot to park, but hit more traffic.
FROM CYNDI P We live very near ORP (out-of-town fans might consider staying in Brownsburg, Avon, or Plainfield to be away from the worst of the race traffic during the week). We avoid the interstates completely on race day and take IN 136 to Dandy Trail. Left on Dandy, then right on 34th Street. Right on Moller Road (this is where you join the regular race traffic, but you’ve cut out the mess between I-465 and 38th Street). The next left is 30th Street. The Coke Lot (where parking is plentiful and FREE!) is on the right. Ahead (East) and to the right (South) is closest to Turn Four of IMS. Honestly, though, we like to park a little further out, under one of the trees. We just hop right off 30th Street wherever the ditch isn’t too deep and park where we want. We usually get there around 11am and there’s still plenty of parking.
After the race, the police make all the roads one-way going out toward 465 (via Moller to 38th) and 74 (via Crawfordsville Road). We don’t like sitting in line burning gas, so we always pack a little grill and enjoy dinner after the race. By about 7-7:30pm, it’s clear enough that we can drive straight out.

FROM CYNDI P Our favorite seats are in Stand J. You can’t see the entire track from anywhere, but Stand J gives you an okay view of Turn Three, and excellent view of Turn Four and the entrance to pit road, and you can see to the Yard of Bricks (sort of - binoculars helpful). It’s closer to the start/finish than the Northwest Vista, but cheaper. We’ve never figured out why.

OTHER IMPORTANT SPEEDWAY INFO
TIPS FROM PHILLIP: 1. After the drivers leave the driver's meeting and they walk through Gasoline Alley, you will want to head over to the tower and stand right up against the fence next to the right steps. The drivers are brought up in vans, all of them, in order of qualification for driver introductions. The earlier you get there the better. They start this right at the time that driver introductions are scheduled to start. They will push you back to make a space large enough for the vans to get through.
2. Also if anyone camps in the Indy lots, bring stakes and caution tape. If this is done the parking attendant told me that your site can be as big as you want within reason, the stated size is 20 x 20. I put some of these pictures on my site as well.
SPEEDWAY PARKING 2011
